Is Medi-Share Right For You?
Health Insurance Alternative for Arkansans
Health insurance under the Affordable Care Act has not been "affordable" for many Arkansas small business owners and self-employed individuals. Medi-Share offers a faith-based solution that doesn’t sacrifice your values or your wallet.

How Medi-Share works
Are you a good fit?
Christ is King! - Medi-Share is committed to serving the Christian community with excellence and integrity, using the Bible as our foundation. In order to maintain these principles, all members agree to and profess to the Statement of Faith.Member-Based Solutions - Medi-Share isn’t insurance—it relies on members voluntarily sharing one another’s eligible medical expenses. This works best for those who appreciate and trust the concept of communal support in managing health related costs.Easy To Understand Expenses - Lower cost Medi-Share programs can include an Annual Household Portion (AHP) that can be higher than a insurance deductible. In contrast, this Annual Household Portion is for the entire household, not per person. After this AHP is met, covered expenses are eligible for sharing at 100%, avoiding the typical confusion with other health plans.Relatively Good Health - Individuals who do not have chronic or pre-existing conditions that frequently require medical attention tend to benefit most, as the program is designed more for sharing routine and unexpected medical costs rather than offering comprehensive health care options.Tobacco & Drug Free - Members highly value the biblical principle that our physical bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit and should be kept pure. Members should strive to maintain healthy lifestyles, as this glorifies God and keeps medical costs down. Applicants need to have abstained from the use of tobacco or Illegal Drugs for at least the 12 months prior to application in order to be eligible for membership.
It’s important to note that while Medi-Share can be a great fit for some, it may not be suitable for everyone—especially if you require comprehensive coverage for ongoing medical needs or if you don’t share the program’s core values.

FAQs
Is Medi-Share Christian insurance? No. Medi-Share is not insurance. Medi-Share is a healthcare sharing program where Christians share their financial resources to pay each other’s medical expenses. Medi-Share isn’t insurance. Resources are shared directly between members. There is no pooling of funds as practiced by insurance groups. Christian Care Ministry and the Medi-Share program are not registered or licensed by any insurance entity, nor are we required to be. We do not collect premiums, make promise of payment, or guarantee that your medical bills will be paid. Sharing medical bills is completely voluntary.
How is Medi-Share biblical? Taking care of each other was a way of life for Christians in the days of the early Church. The book of Acts is a great picture of the fellowship of believers as well as mutual care. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. (Acts 2:44-45) Christians view Medi-Share as a way to reclaim their biblical mandate to care and provide for their brothers and sisters in Christ.
What is the Annual Household Portion (AHP)? The AHP is the dollar amount a Household must pay toward their Eligible Medical Bills during a 12-month period before their needs will be approved for sharing. The AHP 12-month period begins with the Effective Date. For a short video on what is an AHP, click here.
Is maternity shared? Maternity is eligible for up to $125,000 per pregnancy event for members with marital status of “married.” Please refer to Guidelines Section VII for specifics.
How does CCM know I met my AHP? Your providers will submit all medical bills to CCM. At CCM, the bills will be processed and discounted if applicable. Eligible amounts are applied toward your AHP or processed for sharing if your AHP has been met.
